Although officially set to be unveiled tonight at 7 PM ET, the new Detroit Lions jerseys were leaked Thursday morning in a now-deleted promotional post on the USA Today team site.
The blue home jerseys, white away jerseys, and black Honolulu alternate jerseys all feature perforated block numbers and sleeve stripes reminiscent of the vertical bars in the Lions‘ 1961–69 logo, last seen last season on the sides of their blue alternate helmet.
The white away jerseys and black alternate jerseys bear small „Detroit“ or „Lions“ wordmarks on the chest, while this detail is absent in the blue Honolulu home jerseys – presumably to give them an old-school feel.
All three feature a slogan on the back collar, including „One Pride“ on the blue Honolulu home jersey, „313“ – Detroit’s area code – on the white away jersey, and „Motor City“ on the black alternate jersey.
The Lions confirmed the leaks with their own post on Thursday as legitimate, showcasing Defensive Lineman Alim McNeill thanking the leaker. „We appreciate you nullifying all the hard work we put in,“ he said.
