NFL Predictions for 2023 – Read them and weep! Last year, with Stink’s help, we successfully predicted the 2022 Super Bowl champions. So, let’s go B2B, just like the Chiefs could (but don’t want to)! We also correctly chose the Jets to overshadow their Over/Under win total. Boldly declaring them the NFL sleeper team of the year. How can we make more successful NFL predictions for 2023? Just like we did last year – by consulting FOX NFL expert commentator Mark „Stink“ Schlereth. Mark also predicted what we need for last year’s ultimate homegate or tailgate – and he hit the nail on the head. For Stink Sez 2023, buy an LG TV (LG.com) and get all your game day food like Butterball sausage (butterball.com) and a Carvel Game Ball ice cream cake (ILoveIceCreamCakes.com). As a man who has won Super Bowls for both AFC and NFC teams, there is no bias here. But Stink believes the AFC will once again be clearly superior in 2023. Let’s get down to business, Mark; which last four teams will emerge from the toil of a whole season to reach the conference championships and ultimately the Super Bowl? „Well, when you get injured, everything changes – it’s a season full of ups and downs. I still think you have to say that Kansas City is the class of the AFC. Patrick Mahomes is the GOAT. Cincinnati, everyone loves Joe Burrow and I think he’s a phenomenal quarterback. But there’s a team I love even more. I love Aaron Rodgers and the Jets. I’ll tell you what; I would probably pick Cincinnati to hold back from the AFC championship and put the Jets there against KC. Because that’s a top-5 defense last year without great quarterback play. Along with great quarterback play and the complementary nature of football, the Jets‘ defense could be the best defense in the NFL. And that Jets offense has so much potential. For the NFC, I’m picking the two best rosters in my opinion – the Philadelphia Eagles and the San Francisco 49ers. A repeat of last year’s NFC championship game. No discussion of NFL predictions for 2023 is complete without talking about sleeper teams. I think Seattle is a big possible sleeper team. I did their last preseason game (as a announcer) and hung out at practice. They are talented. They are physical. Their back end on defense is long, lean and fast. I think New Orleans with Derek Carr is a sleeper team. I think they win the NFC South on the road. The challenge for them is not very big there. Those are my two favorite sleeper teams I’ve got for you.“ What do you think about the NFC North in 2023/2024? „This division is just interesting because Minnesota was so good last year, but lost in the wild card round. No one really believes in them. I think everyone has high expectations for Detroit, but let’s not forget this is also DETROIT. Can they overcome the sad collapse that happened there? I love Dan Campbell, I think he’s a great coach. I’m picking Detroit to win this division. I love Jordan Love. Last year, I talked with Aaron Rodgers about Love’s progress and Aaron said he would challenge him to go into practice and take that challenge on his own shoulders. He had the chance to play last year and played well. I think Love will be one of those guys this year who is sneakily good.“ Is Bill Belichick on the hot seat? If he doesn’t turn things around this season, is he looking at a potential new future? „I think he’ll have at least another year. But if you look at the rest of this division – the Bills should be good again, Tua Tagovailoa and all the weapons in Miami, if he can stay healthy, the Jets, who I love – I think the Patriots are clearly the fourth-best team. The big problem last year was the regression of Mac Jones. We all saw it coming. How do you hire a special teams coach and a defensive coordinator as „Co-Offensive Coordinators“? They fixed that and brought Bill O’Brien back into the building. Having this man as a mentor for your QB, a man who has mentored Tom Brady, I think Mac Jones is much better than people give him credit for, and I expect a big bounce-back season. But I don’t think Bill B will be fired, even if they’re not fighting for a spot in the playoffs in 2023.“ What is the best offensive line in football? I would give it to the Philadelphia Eagles. A big, physical group that can drive a full and complete down the throat, but also athletic enough to lure guys outside. „Remember the movie with „Globo Gym“? The whole „We’re better than you and we know it.“ That’s the Eagles when it comes to their offensive line.“ Who will hoist the Lombardi in February? „I’m going with the Jets and Aaron Rodgers. As a Denver guy, I have less hate for the Jets than the Chiefs. So I’m taking the Jets.“ NFL Predictions 2023 – Regular Season and Playoffs Results AFC East Jets Dolphins Bills Patriots Random Notes: Remember when the 2022 NFL season started, every expert with a microphone and internet connection was screaming about how unstoppable the Bills would be? I’ve noticed the same sentiment at the beginning of the 2023 NFL season. But I’m not buying it. Here’s why: There’s no way Josh Allen gets hurt. Every year they say they’re going to „run the ball more“ and then don’t support it with play-calling or personnel. 2023 is no different. James Cook, Damien Harris, Latavius Murray? Not a believer. And who is their WR No. 2? It’s only a matter of time before Ken Dorsey panics and tries to get Allen to throw 40+ per game. The defense isn’t better either, while the entire division has improved. I also think they still have to grind out wins at home in the snow to end the 2022 season. As for NFL predictions for 2023, we assume the Bills don’t make the playoffs. Thanks to Tua’s Ju-Jitsu training, the Dolphins are ready to kickstart potentially the best offense in football. Oh and yes, Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. I don’t think it matters who carries the rock or if they’ve brought Sammie Smith or Bernie Parmalee out of retirement. I love The Hoodie aka Billy Snapface, but they finish in last place. If they were in the AFC South or NFC South, they would win three more games and be in the best playoff position. The Jets are the best team in this division. Believe the hype. AFC West Chiefs Chargers Raiders Broncos Random Notes: The Chiefs have won this division eight years in a row and this will be the ninth. I know the Chargers are once again a sexy pick, but a Charger will always be a Charger. Just look at how they messed up last year’s game against JAX. Still a playoff team and maybe they win a playoff game this year. The Raiders are internally corked. Jimmy Handsome gets injured. High-powered offense, poor defense. 7-win ceiling and how long until Davante Adams asks for a trade? My opinion on the Broncos in 2023 remains exactly the same as in 2022: „I have zero confidence in the Broncos. I am firmly in the camp of ‚Russell Wilson gets too much credit for his success.‘ What has he won without the Legion of Boom? Well, I’ll tell you, a playoff win in three attempts. And I’m tired of seeing him and Ciara everywhere as the new power couple. She’s not a singer of the generation and he’s not a QB of the generation.“ AFC South Jaguars Titans Colts Texans Random Notes: Would anyone care if there was an earthquake and this division collapsed to the core of the earth and melted in its molten core (supposedly)? Let’s keep it short: Jaguars win this division. The Titans, Colts, and Texans combined for seven wins last year. And none of them are doing any better in 2023. AFC North Bengals Ravens Steelers Browns Random Notes: In hindsight, this division…
