Cleveland Browns Legend enthüllt den neuen Helm des Teams für 2024 – SportsLogos.Net News

Thirty years after Eric Metcalf last played for the Browns, he still manages to make waves in Cleveland.

Last night, the Cleveland Browns legend posted a mini Browns helmet he received in the mail from the team with the caption „OG celebrating its comeback in 1924!!!“ The issue was that it was a helmet swap that the team had not yet unveiled.

The accompanying photo showed the familiar orange Browns helmet paired with a white face mask instead of the brown face mask they had been using since 2015. Before wearing brown, the Browns had grey face masks from 2006 to 2014. The last time Cleveland wore a full-time white face mask was in 2005, first worn by the team in 1975.

The tweet was eventually deleted, but not before it was read over 30,000 times (and promptly screenshot and circulated).

Metcalf’s tweet nearly confirms what SportsLogos.Net had reported earlier this month: The Browns are returning to a full-time white face mask. The team is expected to officially announce this tomorrow.

Eric Metcalf spent 14 seasons in the NFL from 1989 to 2002 and was known for his versatility and explosive playmaking abilities, especially during his time with the Cleveland Browns but also with the Falcons, Chargers, Cardinals, Panthers, Redskins, and Packers. He played in three Pro Bowls and was named a „Cleveland Browns Legend“ in 2008.
