The Double-A Chattanooga Lookouts will pay tribute to an industry born in their city when they take the field as the Chattanooga Wreckers. According to the team, the identity recognizes Chattanooga as the birthplace of the tow truck, a nickname for wreckers, and the towing industry. Chattanooga’s claim as the birthplace of the towing industry is supported by the International Towing & Recovery Hall of Fame & Museum located in the city.

The main branding features a vintage tow truck in Orange, inspired by Ernest Holmes Sr., who is credited with inventing the tow truck more than a century ago.

„Having the opportunity to tell the story of a local industry, one that was born and built here in Chattanooga, is a unique opportunity,“ said Andrew Zito, Vice President of Lookouts, as quoted on the team’s website. „The Lookouts and the towing industry have been a vital part of Chattanooga for over 100 years. We are very excited to bring this identity to life in our 2024 season.“

The Wreckers will take the field six times in 2024, including on April 26, April 27, June 16, July 12, August 3, and August 29. Games in April will feature a Wreckers car air freshener giveaway.
