The Denver Broncos officially unveiled their new „Mile High“ uniforms on Monday morning, marking the first significant overhaul of their appearance in 27 years, despite a series of leaks spoiling the surprise.

The orange home jerseys, white away jerseys, and blue alternate jerseys all feature a mountain-like design on the sleeves and an updated version of the Broncos‘ previous number font, which is less rounded than before.

The numbers are adorned with perforated triangles, a nod to the team’s three Super Bowl titles, visible on the sides of the jerseys. They are derived from topographical maps using triangles to represent mountain peaks.

„This has been a thoughtful, collaborative journey where we’ve listened to voices across Broncos Country to design the Mile High Collection, our modern and inspirational new uniforms for the Denver Broncos,“ said team president Damani Leech. „We are grateful for the engagement and creativity of the owners, players, our football and business leadership, Nike, and especially the best fans in the NFL throughout this entire process.“

„While honoring the championship tradition of the Broncos, we are also committed to innovation and growth in such a transformative time in franchise history. Our new uniforms – the Mile High Collection – boldly integrate elements of our past, present, and future while paying homage to Colorado and the Rocky Mountain Region, which we proudly call home.“

The inside of the back collar features „Broncos Country“ and „5280,“ while the outside of the collar displays a summit marker representing the top of the 58 peaks in Colorado over 14,000 feet high.

The blue, orange, and white pants, on the other hand, showcase a zigzag stripe pattern only on the sleeves, with the inscription „5280“ in the stripes, denoting the number of feet per mile and honoring Denver’s status as the „Mile High City.“

Denver has removed the three stripes from their primary blue helmets and replaced them with a shortened design on the back containing the mentioned triangles. The finish has also been updated from glossy to matte color.

The Broncos have also swapped the classic stripes on their white alternate helmets and the retro „D“ logo paired with their old Color Rush uniforms for their primary logo and a new stripe pattern that matches the blue lids.

In addition, the Broncos will revive their „Orange Crush“ jerseys for at least one game per season, complemented by a royal blue helmet featuring the iconic „D“ logo in its original colors.

This is the first time since their Thanksgiving Day victory over the Dallas Cowboys in 2001 that the Broncos will be sporting this type of retro uniform, although they wore brown and yellow retro jerseys in 2009 to commemorate the AFL’s 50th season.
