Yokogawa Electric Corporation (TOKIO: 6841) announced today the launch of the CQ3000, a high-content analysis system for capturing high-resolution 3D microscope images of living cell cultures. As an extension of the company’s CellVoyager™ product family, the CQ3000 will be commercially introduced later in 2024.
The CQ3000 was developed to capture high-resolution 3D microscope images of living cell cultures at high speed. In conjunction with Yokogawa’s CellPathfinder image analysis software, the CQ3000 can quantify and analyze intracellular organelles to evaluate cellular reactions and the effects of drug compounds. It enables highly efficient evaluation of cells in a wide range of applications, from basic research to drug discovery screening.

High-Resolution Observation of Living Cells Over Long Periods
The CQ3000 allows for stable and precise observation of living cell cultures over long periods thanks to its high-precision temperature control and Yokogawa’s dual rotating micro-lens disk, which captures optical section images (confocal images) at higher speed and better sensitivity, minimizing damage to cells compared to other confocal systems on the market.
Thanks to improvements in its table control and autofocus functions, the CQ3000 can capture images of microplates at high speed. In combination with the optional dual-camera and wide-field imaging function, which uniformly captures the entire field of view, the image capture time is shortened. This product enables the rapid selection of promising chemical compounds from a variety of new drug candidates.
High Image Quality
Utilizing Yokogawa’s proprietary water immersion lens mechanism, it is possible to capture bright images at low magnification levels in addition to detailed observation at high magnification levels. The use of an optional uniformizer achieves even illumination across the entire field of view, capturing vivid images.
