Von UNC bis SC war der Carolina-Basketball am Samstag in vollem Gange

The North Carolina Tar Heels clinched their first ACC regular season title in seven years with an 84-79 victory over arch-rival Duke on Saturday. The annual conference showdown is a highlight in college basketball, and fans should savor the rivalry and the ACC basketball as a whole, as the future of the conference remains uncertain.

In the meantime, let’s bask in the glory of the „Real Housewives of Cameron Indoor“ who throw drinks at UNC players and embrace their inner Heel.

The antics between these two foes are always entertaining and unpredictable. Senior Tar Heel Guard Cormac Ryan led all scorers with 31 points, including the game-winning free throws with 4.7 seconds remaining. Ryan, averaging around 11 points per game, had never surpassed the 30-point mark in his career and has been on campus since 2018.

You could say he’s an unlikely hero – or should be a doctor – but at the same time, it makes perfect sense that some random grinder walked into Cameron and repeatedly silenced the Crazies in a game UNC clearly won. One of the things that still make men’s basketball great is high-quality conferences and matchups.

With Florida State trying to take over its football program after being snubbed from the College Football Playoffs, the future of the ACC is unclear. Television rights agreements dictate that these conference commissioners chase the slightest hint of money, and if that were wrong, the folks down in Tallahassee would know that the easiest path to the GFP is through the ACC.

As student-athletes become paid employees, the unfettered revenue streams are endangered, and the chase for TV money will become even more prominent.

The Gamecocks now stand at 31-0 and one win away from capturing the SEC Tournament. Dawn Staley’s team holds the top ranking and will be seeking revenge at March Madness.
