According to reports, center Tristan Thompson of the Cleveland Cavaliers has been suspended for 25 games.

The 13-year pro reportedly tested positive for the growth hormone Ibutamoren and SARM LGD-4033, which bodybuilders use for muscle building.

Thompson, who averaged 3.8 points, 3.9 total rebounds, and 1.1 assists in 36 games this season, has not publicly commented on the suspension.

Players are typically subjected to four random PED tests during the season and two during the off-season, as per the collective bargaining agreement between the NBA and the National Basketball Players Association.

Damian Lillard and Donovan Mitchell both underwent testing after scoring 71 points each in separate 2023 games.

Thompson was the overall fourth pick in the 2011 NBA Draft and spent the first eight years of his career in Cleveland, where he won a championship in 2016. After stints with the Boston Celtics, Sacramento Kings, Indiana Pacers, Chicago Bulls, and Golden State Warriors, he returned to the Warriors.

The Cavs currently sit in second place in the Central Division and have won their last eight games. Thompson will be eligible to return to play in mid-March.
