How Different Dietary Patterns Affect Cardiovascular Health

The diet of omnivores is often rich in meat and meat products, with average consumption in Germany exceeding the recommended limit of 600 grams per week. High meat consumption is associated with an increased risk of obesity, high blood pressure, insulin resistance, abnormally high blood fats, and arterial stiffening, all of which are risk factors for cardiovascular diseases (CVD).
