Portland Timbers hat etwas geschafft, was fast keinem anderen Profiteam gelang

Heather Davis, the CEO of Portland Timbers, has just given other professional sports teams a master class in dealing with problematic individuals associated with the club, and in her opinion, it wasn’t even a difficult decision.

According to the Oregonian, after a story was published about allegations that the CEO of corporate sponsor DaBella, Donnie McMillan, sexually harassed women working for him, the Timbers quickly severed ties with the company despite a seven-figure uniform sponsorship contract. Even though the MLS club only learned of the allegations on Tuesday, the Timbers will have removed any DaBella branding from Providence Park and the team uniforms by the time fans arrive for a game against DC United on Saturday.

Davis stated that upon learning of the allegations against McMillan, Donnie denied all accusations. „We had a very open and candid conversation. It’s not my job to determine if he was being honest or not. My job is to ensure that this organization reflects the values of this community.“
