The New Orleans Saints will be wearing their Color Rush jerseys with their standard gold helmets in today’s game against the Los Angeles Rams, starting at 8:15 pm ET on Amazon Prime.
The uniforms, introduced in 2016, feature a traditional sleeve stripe pattern and old gold numbers, similar to what the Saints wore in their first two seasons as a franchise on the road.
The uniforms also include white pants with black and old gold stripes on the sides, added as part of the Color Rush initiative designed to give teams a monochromatic look.
Up until 2021, New Orleans had a record of 8-6 in this combination, but in the following season, they began wearing the uniforms with black helmets after the NFL lifted its one-helmet rule.
With the black helmets, the Saints have gone 0-3, including a 24-15 loss to the Atlanta Falcons last month. So, perhaps this is an attempt to get back on track in their Color Rush set.
The Rams, on the other hand, will counter with their usual home jerseys: royal blue helmets with gold horns, royal blue jerseys, and gold pants. They have a record of 2-1 in this combination this season.
