Minnesota’s football program unveiled three new uniforms on Friday morning, marking the first major refresh of the Golden Gophers‘ look since the 2018 season.

The maroon home jerseys, white away jerseys, and gold alternate jerseys all feature a traditional stripe pattern on the sleeves, a design not seen on Gophers uniforms in almost 50 years.

They also feature single-color numbers—gold numbers on the maroon jerseys and maroon numbers on the white-gold jerseys—in Minnesota’s current font, reminiscent of their 1999–2007 and 2012–17 sets.

Additionally, there is a tab on the back of the collar that showcases the outline of the state on the outside and „Ski-U-Mah“ on the inside. This tab made its debut in 2020 with the NFL’s Los Angeles Rams and found its way to college football in 2021 with the Oregon Ducks.

Interestingly, the Gophers did not introduce a gold jersey with this latest set, opting instead for anthracite and (later) black versions and choosing to wear the 2012–17 version for select games in the 2019/20 season.

Meanwhile, Minnesota retained its helmet design with maroon, gold, and white versions featuring the block „M“ on the sides, a center stripe resembling an oar handle, and a ship’s compass on the back.

The look is completed with matching maroon, gold, and white pants, which feature a different stripe pattern than the sleeves. Additionally, the Gophers will continue to wear their black alternate uniform that debuted in 2022.
