The United States Pharmacopeia (USP) has undertaken a significant initiative to modernize a substantial number of existing monographs, incorporating ion chromatography (IC) methods for numerous pharmaceutical drug substance tests as well as the analysis of impurities and excipients. Metrohm has collaborated with USP in this project, and several of these monographs have been validated using Metrohm instruments and columns.
USP has launched a global initiative to modernize many existing monographs across all compendia.
In this context, numerous titrations, ion measurements, and other wet chemical methods have been replaced by IC methods, which have been validated using Metrohm equipment and columns. This enables companies in the pharmaceutical industry to replace their current methods with more modern IC methods, making their daily routine analysis safer and more efficient.
Companies looking to modernize their pharmaceutical analysis are supported by Metrohm in this transition from consultation through implementation to method validation.
