LSU running back Trey Holly was arrested and charged with second-degree attempted murder in connection with a shooting at an apartment complex in Louisiana that left two injured.

19-year-old college student Holly turned himself in on Thursday and is being held on a $512,000 bond. He also faced charges once for aggravated damage to property and once for illegal use of a weapon (on a public street), according to Union Parish Sheriff Dusty Gates, as cited by The Advocate.

Kelvin Rodgers, one of Holly’s attorneys, told The Advocate that his client intends to plead not guilty on all three charges.

The sheriff’s office said the victims were unrelated.

Reportedly, Holly has been indefinitely suspended by LSU in connection to the incident.

„We are aware of a student-athlete in connection with a shooting in Union Parish,” the school said in a statement. “This student-athlete has been indefinitely suspended from all team activities in accordance with department guidelines. Out of respect for the judicial process, we will not comment further.“

Standing at 5’7″ and weighing 192 pounds, the tailback made 11 runs for 110 yards and a TD for the Tigers in 2023. He holds the all-time rushing record in Louisiana with 10,523 yards.

Two others, including a 17-year-old minor, were also arrested in connection to the shooting in Farmerville, La.

LSU finished 10-3 and secured the second spot in the SEC West, defeating Wisconsin 35-31 in the ReliaQuest Bowl on January 1.
