Jerry Reinsdorf missed the mark as usual. The Chicago Bulls are gearing up for their second consecutive play-in tournament appearance, completing another rebuild after a disappointing stretch. Now is not the time to force more nostalgia on fans and remind them of an era many believe has come to an end. Scapegoating the former General Manager Jerry Krause, who many still blame for the destruction of the Bulls dynasty, would not end well.
The Bulls introduced their Ring of Honor for the first time on Friday night. The Dallas Cowboys have the most famous one, inducting players and other legendary franchise members instead of retiring individuals. The Bulls already have four retired players – Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Bob Love, and Jerry Sloan – as well as banners honoring Phil Jackson and Krause.
