„Let’s create something for everyone.“ – Texans Chairman Cal McNair

The Houston Texans unveiled new jerseys on Tuesday morning, featuring four distinct designs aimed at satisfying every corner of the fanbase.

The „traditional and classic“ home jersey features a familiar blue helmet with Houston’s primary logo on the sides, a blue jersey with custom number font beneath a red „Texans“ script.

The jerseys also feature a red and white collar design, the primary logo on the sleeves, and a „Houston“ script above the nameplate, while the white pants feature a thick red stripe next to a thin blue stripe.

We’ve already seen the „traditional but modernized“ road uniform, which combines the aforementioned blue helmet with a white jersey featuring horn-shaped designs on the sleeves and shoulders.

The jersey prominently displays the „Houston“ script above the mostly blue numbers, with the primary logo visible above the nameplate. The look is rounded out by blue pants with red and white stripes.

The design of the road jersey and pants is carried over to the all-red „Bold Bull“ alternate uniform, but with a new candy-red helmet that wraps the blue horns from the shoulders around the facemask.

The red jersey notably features a white „Texans“ script above the mostly blue numbers and the primary logo above the nameplate. The red pants have a thin white stripe alongside a thick blue stripe.

Finally, the all-blue „H-Town and Tough“ Color Rush uniform is the most drastic departure from the Texans‘ previous look introduced in their inaugural season of 2002.

It features a new stylized „H“ logo on the helmet in Houston’s new H-Town blue and red. The „H,“ also visible below the rear collar, notably incorporates the star/eye from the Texans‘ primary logo.

The jersey follows the same template as the home design but showcases red numbers with a blue H-Town stripe and an „H-Town“ script on the chest. The sleeves also feature a two-color version of the primary logo.

The uniform is completed with blue pants featuring a thick red and small blue H-Town stripe, along with a „Texans“ script in the rear collar, while the other three jerseys sport an „H-Town“ script at that spot.

Thus far, the Denver Broncos have been the only team (so far) to benefit from the NFL’s new helmet rules, allowing teams undergoing a redesign this offseason to add a third helmet shell color before it is implemented league-wide in 2025.

The Texans and Detroit Lions have introduced a third helmet design for their Color Rush and Throwback uniforms, simply swapping or removing decals from their standard blue and grey helmets to achieve the desired effect.

Remaining are the New York Jets, who could potentially add another jersey and helmet to their wardrobe this season, after transitioning their white „Legacy“ throwback jerseys to regular road status and unveiling matching green home and black alternate versions.
