In Bowling Green, Kentucky, the ground is home to an extensive cave network. Located less than 40 miles away is Mammoth Cave National Park, part of the world’s largest known cave system with over 426 miles of surveyed passageways.
As a nod to this entirely tubular feature of their home state, the High-A Bowling Green Hot Rods, whose baseball stadium is built on cavernous ground, unveiled an alternate brand that they will wear at select games this season: The Bowling Green Cavemen.
Designed by Brandon Lamarche of 32 Designs, the series of logos depicts the most famous cave dwellers this side of blind shrimp. The blue-skinned character, with blue hair tied back by a bone, wields a bat reminiscent of clubs a caveman would swing in pursuit of prey.
Another logo depicts a cave figure peering out from a cave formed by the letter C.
The Cavemen will take the field for the first time on April 5, 2024.
