The Billings Mustangs, a member of MLB’s Pioneer League, unveiled a new primary logo, replacing one that had been in use since 2006. The new look features a horse running towards the viewer against the backdrop of rock formations, encompassing the city, created by Nick Matarese of The Barn Creative.
„The new logo is bright, colorful, and attention-grabbing,“ said Dave Heller, team owner of the Mustangs. „It incorporates the iconic Rimrocks, has a Western-style unique to the Northern Mountain Plains states, and evokes the energy, speed, and strength of the Mustangs players. It fits perfectly with Billings.“
While this is the first update to the Mustangs‘ primary logo in nearly two decades, the new brand expands on a set of alternate marks introduced as part of a team branding refresh in 2022. The above marks were also created by The Barn Creative.
„I’m excited to release this logo,“ said General Manager Matt Allen. „I love how it ties all of our great logos together. We are excited about the future of the Mustangs and love how this logo reflects the team’s past, present, and future.“
The Mustangs will take the field in May 2021 as the Pioneer League season begins.
