This partnership combines Beckman Coulter Life Sciences‘ extensive experience in automated liquid handling with Polycarbin’s sustainability-oriented circular economy platform for laboratory plastics.
Together, they are committed to achieving two key goals in the United States:
- Recycling solutions with closed-loop: Through the partnership with Beckman Coulter Life Sciences, Polycarbin aims to make its closed-loop recycling solutions accessible to a broader research audience. This initiative focuses on keeping laboratory plastics out of landfills and incineration facilities, and allowing these materials to be recycled and reused in the supply chain.
- Low-carbon laboratory products: Polycarbin and Beckman Coulter Life Sciences are jointly driving the development of a groundbreaking range of low-carbon laboratory consumables. These products, made from recycled materials, reduce our dependence on fossil fuels, making scientific research more sustainable. By providing each product with third-party verified sustainability metrics, Polycarbin and Beckman Coulter Life Sciences enable their customers to convert their consumables budget into their sustainability budget.
“This partnership represents a monumental step in revolutionizing sustainability in the age of automated liquid handling,” said James O’Brien, CEO of Polycarbin. “Our collaboration provides researchers with cutting-edge solutions that reduce their ecological footprint while increasing research precision.”
“At Beckman Coulter Life Sciences, sustainability is at the forefront of everything we do,” said Ewan Grant, Director of Liquid Handling and Genomics. “We are committed to leaving the planet cleaner and healthier for future generations, and this partnership with Polycarbin is an exciting step forward in this ongoing initiative, both in our facilities and in our customers’ laboratories.”
This partnership underscores the commitment of both organizations to empower researchers, drive sustainability, and create a positive impact on the scientific community and the environment.
