Landschaft des Jahres 2010/11: Slowakischer Karst – Aggtelek Karst offiziell eröffnet
Die offizielle Eröffnung der Landschaft des Jahres 2010/11 setzt ein klares Zeichen für fruchtbringende Kooperationen und freundschaftliche Beziehungen zwischen der Slowakei und Ungarn.
Am 21. Mai 2010 wurde die Region Slowakischer Karst – Aggtelek Karst zur Landschaft des Jahres 2010/11 erklärt. In dem inmitten einer malerischen Landschaft gelegenen ungarischen Ort Aggtelek erklärte Manfred Pils, Präsident der Naturfreunde Internationale (NFI), die Landschaft des Jahres offiziell für eröffnet.

Broschüre „Höhlen und mehr ...“ erschienen
Rechtzeitig zur Eröffnung der Landschaft des Jahres ist auch die Broschüre „Slowakischer Karst – Aggtelek Karst: Höhlen und mehr…“ erschienen, die über das Projekt informiert und einen Überblick über die Region bietet.

Studie: Flucht vor den Folgen des Klimawandels
WissenschafterInnen untersuchen durch den Klimawandel verursachte Migration
Eine Ende April 2010 präsentierte Forschungsarbeit des German Marshall Fund befasst sich mit Klimaflüchtlingen, einer neuen, wachsenden Gruppe von MigrantInnen.
Die Studie nennt Dürre, Wüstenbildung, den steigenden Meeresspiegel, den Kampf um Ressourcen und die Intensivierung von Naturkatastrophen als wahrscheinlichste Ursachen für künftige Migration.

Slovak Karst - Aggtelek Karst: Landscape of the Year 2010/11 inaugurated
The Naturefriends’ inauguration of the “Landscape of the Year 2010/11” sets a clear sign for fruitful cooperations and friendly relations between Slovakia and Hungary.
On 21 May 2010, the region Slovak Karst – Aggtelek Karst on the border between Slovakia and Hungary was proclaimed “Landscape of the Year 2010/11”. Surrounded by the beautiful scenery in the small hungarian village of Aggtelek, Manfred Pils, president of the international umbrella organisation of the Naturefriends’ movement, officially inaugurated the project.

Booklet “Caves and more …” published
In time for the inauguration of the Landscape of the Year, NFI has published the booklet “Slovak Karst – Aggtelek Karst: Caves and more ...” which informs on the project and gives an overview of the region.

The booklet is available as download in English/German and Hungarian/Slovak on our website.

In 2010, the Year of Football World Cup, the Southafrican Ministry for Tourism expects about 14 million international visitors. In 2009, Africa was the only worldregion with an increase in touristy arrivals So, is tourism the great economic hope for the Continent?

Actually it is controversial whether the general public of Southafrica and other african countries benefits from touristic increase or not. However, in many african countries there are tourism projects connecting social and environmental
commitment. They become a driving force and an important emlpoyer in their region.

In the new infosheet titled „Africa – FairPlay in Tourism!“, respect - Institute for Integrative Tourism and Development – informs on such initiatives and provides tangible travel options in Gambia, Ghana, Mosambique, Senegal, Tanzania and Togo.

A transatlantic study team set up by the German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF) published the first results of its research into climate-induced migration in Brussels on 30. April, stressing that climate change is going to create a growing new group of immigrants.
They identified drought and desertification, rising sea levels, competition for natural resources and intensifying acute natural disasters as main climate scenarios likely to affect immigration in future.

Inauguration du Paysage de l’année 2010/11 : Karst slovaque – Karst d’Aggtelek
Le 21 mai 2010, la région « Karst slovaque – Karst d’Aggtelek » a été officiellement déclarée Paysage de l’année 2010/2011 par Manfred Pils, Président de l’Internationale des Amis de la Nature.
L’événement a eu lieu à Aggtelek, village hongrois serti dans un paysage pittoresque.

La plaquette « Karst slovaque – Karst d’Aggtelek : Pas seulement des grottes … » est sortie juste à temps pour l’inauguration du Paysage de l’année ; elle contient des informations sur le projet et la région.

Nouvelle fiche d’information sur le tourisme en Afrique en ligne
Pour 2010, année de la Coupe du Monde de football, le ministère du Tourisme d’Afrique du Sud s’attend à la venue de près de 14 millions de visiteurs internationaux. En 2009 l’Afrique était la seule région du monde à enregistrer une montée des arrivées de touristes. Est-ce que le tourisme serait donc le grand porteur d’espoir pour l’économie du continent ?

En réalité les opinions divergent sur la question de savoir si oui ou non les populations d’Afrique du Sud et d’autres pays africains tirent profit de la croissance du tourisme.

Toutefois, dans bien des pays africains des projets touristiques ont été mis sur pied, faisant converger de manière exemplaire engagement social et environnemental et jouant dans les régions concernées le rôle d’importants mobilisateurs et employeurs. Dans une nouvelle fiche d’information intitulée « Afrika – FairPlay auch im Tourismus ! », respect – l’Institut pour le tourisme intégratif et le développement – présente quelques initiatives de ce type et les voyages qu’elles proposent en Gambie, au Ghana, en Mozambique, au Sénégal, en Afrique du Sud, en Tanzanie et au Togo.

Étude : La migration comme conséquence du changement climatique
Les phénomènes migratoires résultant de changements climatiques ont fait l’objet d’une analyse récente d’une équipe de recherche.
L’étude présentée fin avril 2010 par le German Marshall Fund aborde le thème des réfugiés climatiques, un nouveau groupe de migrants, de plus en plus nombreux.
D’après l’étude, les sécheresses, la désertification, la montée du niveau des océans, la concurrence pour les ressources et l’intensification de catastrophes naturelles seraient les composantes climatiques qui devraient le plus affecter l’immigration à l’avenir.
