EEB (European Environmental Bureau) publishes a vision for a new EU biodiversity policy
2010 is a critical year for the EU with a new European Parliament and a new European Commission starting their mandate and tackling a truly global crisis:

Energy and climate emergency; a structural growth in food, commodity and resource prices; growing competition for land, water and space; and the biggest mass extinction of species in 60 million years. 2010 is also the International Year for Biodiversity when the EU committed itself to halt the unprecedented loss of plant and animal life.
