In its educational work Naturefriends International combines the
theoretical approach-es of Global Education, Education for Sustainable
Development and Environmental Edu-cation and puts them into practice.
Using all their senses and exchanging experience co-operatively and
interactively, learners participate actively in the learning process as
well as in creation and implementation of activities.

The European Commission has presented its proposal for an EU Strategy for the Danube Region and its 115 million inhabitants. This initiative seeks to develop the huge economic potential and improve environmental conditions of the region.
International Young Naturefriends publish „Green Toolbox“
Green Toolbox encourages and inspires various sector organizations to apply sustainable working practices in their daily work and within their project and office management. It responds to the questions ranging from how we can choose the most environmentally friendly merchandise and gadgets to most socially responsible banking for our organization; what office and project management practices can do most good and least harm for people, natural environment and animals.
Die Naturfreunde kämpfen gegen jegliche Eingriffe in Schutzgebiete, die dem Schutzzweck widersprechen. Derzeit setzen sie sich vor allem gegen eine geplante Baummaßnahme des Wintertourismus in Tirol ein, wo eine lifttechnische Erschließung im Ruhegebiet Kalkkögel geplant ist.
The annual award is open to any entity involved in activities related to Natura 2000. Local and national authorities, businesses, land owners, NGOs, educational institutions and individuals from all 28 EU Member States are all eligible to apply for the five award categories.
