19. and 20. November 2012, Linz (Upper Austria)
The international hiking conference, within the frame of the EU project DanubeHIKE, took place in Linz from 19. – 20. November.
The Werbegemeinschaft Donau Oberösterreich and Naturefriends International, supported by their project partners from Germany, Slovakia, Serbia and Bulgaria, invited participants from Danube bordering countries for international exchange; And representatives from all 10 Danube countries actually participated in the event.

Within the EU-funded project DanubeHIKE, NFI and the project partners developed a motivational brochure about hiking offers along the Danube and their potential.
Aim of this brochure is the motivation of tour operators, destinations and other tourism stakeholders to promote and/or improve sustainable hiking offers along the Danube.

On 19th and 20th November 2012 the International Hiking Conference will take place at the Power Tower in Linz. Aim of the hiking conference is to communicate the potential of hiking tourism within the entire Danube region.

Naurefriends International is working on the development of cross-border hiking-tourism along the Danube.  In partnership with WGD Tourismus GmbH and financially supported by the Austrian Ministry of Economy a report on existing and potential hiking infrastructure in Danube states has been published.
