Naurefriends International is working on the development of cross-border hiking-tourism along the Danube.  In partnership with WGD Tourismus GmbH and financially supported by the Austrian Ministry of Economy a report on existing and potential hiking infrastructure in Danube states has been published.

Immediately after the signing of the EU’s Danube Strategy in Brussels, the „Danube Floating Conference“ took place from June 24 -26 2011. The conference brought together stakeholders to address the development of the region.

The European Commission has presented its proposal for an EU Strategy for the Danube Region and its 115 million inhabitants. This initiative seeks to develop the huge economic potential and improve environmental conditions of the region.
