Our work is focused on shaping the sustainable development of our societies and includes in particular protecting, cultivating and making people aware of our natural and cultural heritage as well as ensuring that nature-based tourism is environmentally compatible, encouraging sustainable mobility  and making the right to a healthy environment and living conditions a reality for all people.

Green Toolbox encourages and inspires various sector organizations to apply sustainable working practices in their daily work and within their project and office management. It responds to the questions ranging from how we can choose the most environmentally friendly merchandise and gadgets to most socially responsible banking for our organization; what office and project management practices can do most good and least harm for people, natural environment and animals.

The way from Rio to Rio via Johannesburg has taken 20 years in which none of the hopes raised at the Rio Summit 1992 have been translated into substantive action as regards sustainable development and the fight against hunger in the world.

Von 20.-22. Juni 2012 findet in Rio de Janeiro die UN-Konferenz zu Umwelt und Entwicklung als Folgekonferenz des ersten „Earth Summit“ in Rio im Jahr 1992 statt (Rio+20). Die vor 20 Jahren angesprochenen Probleme haben sich in vielen Bereichen massiv verschärft. Aus diesem Anlass veröffentlicht eine Koalition aus Umwelt- und Entwicklungsorganisationen einen umfassenden Forderungskatalog unter dem Motto "Gerechtigkeit in einer endlichen Welt".
